an update from the amika team

Friends of amika,

We are living in crazy times, but you already know that. Many are deeply struggling, and we are no exception. As an independently owned small business, we’ve had to make some incredibly tough decisions to keep our company afloat.
As the world is “on pause”, we’ve been using this opportunity to re-evaluate who we are, what we do, and why we do it. The name amika means friend. A friend to hair, hairstylists, her, him, you and them. In these unprecedented times, coming together as a community is more important than ever.
We’re a friend to your hair and only make products that make us proud. And while the cost of our products is reflective of the quality of our ingredients and our passion we put into everything we do, we’ve decided to run limited-time sales throughout this period to ensure our company can weather the crisis.
We’re a friend to hairstylists, which is why we’ve increased our Salon Affiliate Program to include 40% commission for all purchases their clients make on our website while their salons are closed. Support your stylist and ask for their unique code.
And most importantly, amika is a friend to him, her, you and them. As a haircare company, we wanted to do what we could to give a moment of happiness to those on the front lines battling COVID-19. We’ve received requests from physicians and nurses who are working around the clock and must wash their hair daily to prevent transmission of the virus. This is causing them to go through product quickly and leaves their hair dry, damaged, and stressed.
As a brand with deep roots in New York City, where the virus has affected so many lives, we’re donating bottles of shampoo, conditioner and hair masks to NYC hospitals and hospitals around the country. Our hope is that this helps nourish their hair and provides them with a little pampering at the end of the day.

Be Well,

the amika team
